‘Time at Turbo’
Time at Turbo documents the experience of entering and navigating a new environment, focusing on how thoughts and emotions shift over time.
I visited Turbo Island and recorded my internal monologue as I spent an extended period in the space. In response, I created a typographic piece, laser cut into a plank of wood, translating these thoughts into a physical form. I then returned to the site and burned the work, using the existing fire as part of the process.
The act was documented through photographs and fragments of conversations with the strangers present. This material was later developed into a publication, the same dimensions as the wood (167 × 685 mm), capturing both the process and the atmosphere of the event.
